The Weekly Seal’s Wrap-up Report
from Friday’s night Game against Central Mountain
The SEALS traveled to Central Mountain Friday night and did what they needed to do….. they Got the “WIN”!! The Offense, with Leiby (400+yards passing and 5 Touch Down’s) at the helm leading the way, came out firing on all cylinders!! Inch (90+ yards and 2 Touch Down’s) had the “HAT TRICK” last week, but this week with 3 Touch Down’s it was Dressler’s (75+yards and 3 Touch Down’s) turn to lead the way across the goal line!! Nylund (120+yards) and Showers(90+yards) each had great games at Wide Receiver as well. The GRUNTS (Critter, Dreese, Zeiders, Bogar, Schon, Baney) all had good nights for the most part giving Leiby ample time to find his Wide Receiver’s and giving Kahn a few nice holes to run through as well. The SEALS jumped out to an early 20-0 lead the 1st quarter and then they seemed to put it in “cruise” control the rest of the half. Seems like they lost their focus for awhile and just didn’t have that “knockout” punch in them. I guess sometimes it is tough to keep that adrenaline flowing when the game is getting out of hand. I am thinking Coach Hicks had a bit of a chat with the Boys at halftime as he seemed to “re-light” the Fire again after the break and The SEALS put the game away with a 40-3 SEALS Win!! The Defense played “lights out” again as well giving up only around 130 total yards. The BIG 3 (rotating in and out were Dressler, Baney, Critter, Everett, Zeiders) and the Line Backer’s (Sheesley, Croman, VanZijl, Croman, Kahn, Oyster, Bogar) were all over the Cats Quarter Back and Running Back’s harassing them in their own back field and “laying the lumber” down on them with some BIG TIME Hits more then just a few times with them getting up a bit wobbly and woozy and seeing a few stars as well of that I am sure!! Defensive Back Ravy had a great night along with Showers(1 Interception) and Swineford who just missed getting his 5th “pick” in 5 games!! Another great TEAM effort!! Only a few negatives to take away from the game. Penalties…Penalties….PENALTIES!!!!! They need to clean them up especially with nothing but Big Games left in the regular season and the post season looming as well!!! The Boys need to FOCUS the ENTIRE game from here on out as Penalties, Mistakes and Turnovers are usually the deciding factor in most outcomes. Good thing is that it is something that can be corrected, and am sure will be a point of interest and worked on the next couple of weeks at practice!! Way to Take Care of Business SEALS and time to FOCUS on Mt Carmel who will be coming to The GROVE this coming Friday!!! Great job again Critter!! You nullified one of their best players on DEFENSE shutting him down all night, well with one exception lol. On DEFENSE you were in their backfield all night, and just missed a sack when you LEVELED their Quarter Back just as he released the ball, even though you were up against “Andre the Giant”!! Heck he even made you look small lol!! Continue to work hard and improve your game on both sides of the ball. Proud of Ya Son and Love Ya #52!! Two games left before playoffs, both in The GROVE!!! Thanks as always for the great pics Keirra Stahl and feel free to check out the great SEALS Football website thanks to Donna Mitchell www.sealsfootball.org
